  1. Will you be doing this up in NH? Will the weather cooperate by the end of the month?

  3. First day of fishing.
It is over February break and me and peter are in Florida. His dad asks us if we want to go fishing. We both agreed to go on a 60 person party boat fishing trip. We arrive at captain Tom's dock and board the boat. The boat is crowded with people we don't know, we are lucky to find 6 spots next to each other (me peter his dad his mom and two friends). We are scheduled to boat out into the ocean for 2 hours. within the first 15 minutes me and peter had taken a wave of water to the entire body and decided it would be a good idea to move up to the top deck. Peter and i start talking about life and how good it is, we sing a couple of our favorite songs as well. The boat starts to slow down and we move back down to the lower deck. the anchor gets set and the horn sounds to let us know we can fish. Everyone drops line and withing 30 seconds someone starts to yell that they have a fish. Before we know it people are catching fish like crazy. Mentally this is a little disheartening because people around you (and in your party of friends)are catching fish while your line dangles in the water. but all the sudden i hook a fish, i reel it up and bring it inside the boat. It is a good sized fish called a grouper, how ever these fish were out of season so i had to throw it back. In a little while, i hook another fish... again i pull it out of the water and into the boat, another grouper... this one was bigger but i had to throw it back again. we move locations a few more times and at the last spot i hook a fish. i real it up and it happens to be a yellow snapper. These fish we could keep, we through the fish into our bucket that our party had which was already pretty full of fish. Our fishing trip had come to an end and we were back at shore. Fishing with a party of 60 people is way different than fishing alone or with someone else. When you are fishing with a group of 60 people its loud, people are drinking and it is more along the lines of socializing than fishing. There is no mental aspect of fishing when you are out on a party boat.

  4. Free Durring the Day:
Tyler Lewtan and i share a common D block Free. I had only ever been spin-cast fishing before. Tyler is a fly fisher. He said that he wanted to go fishing and he wanted me to come out because he knew that i was interested in fishing. Tyler started to set up his rod and teach me the knots that he was tying. I wasnt really paying attention because at this point i was not sure if i was going to get my own rod or not. Tyler started to cast and i was mesmerized by how fly fishing worked. The casting motion was amazing. Watching the fly move back and forth at the end of the line and the line slowly getting let out as he cast over and over was really cool. Tyler knows a lot about insects, just like any good fly fisher does. Fish only eat what is hatching naturally. Tyler will pick up on a hatch while walking to the pond and put on the correct flys accordingly. His knowledge is pretty extensive and it is fun to fish with him. Tyler let me try his rod out and of course the first thing i do is try to cast the rod as if its a whip. This causes the fly at the end to snap off and it is almost impossible to find a fly after that happens. I felt bad after this had happened but Tyler told me not to worry so i tried my best not to. Tyler tough me the basics of fly fishing. We scheduled to go fishing after school later that week.

  5. Tyler and i had planed to go fishing, and now we had decided to go after school. Tyler had told me to meet him by the gas station on route 20. he had told me that he had a surprise for me. I had no idea what this was. After school when snow was still on the ground i met Tyler at the route 20 gas station. i had pulled up and he immediately showed me his surprise. It was a huge book titled the complete fisherman. Inside this book ranges from any knots you need to know to where to find fish and strategies to locate fish on unfamiliar body's of water. I had read through half this book within the first week of reviving it from Tyler. Tyler tough me how to set up a rod, the knots i needed to know and how to equip it with the correct lures.

  6. Tyler had done so much for me, i knew that I wanted to buy my own rod now. Tyler had helped me tie my first knots, and helped me through the process of what rods to buy and why. i made it to dicks after school one day and picked up my rod. Now that i had my rod, i had to get a few lures, some hooks and a tackle box. I was ready to fish. I went home and immediately set up my rod, i put all the line onto the rod, and tied a lure onto the end of the string, i was ready to go. Finally having my own rod felt nice, i was able to now go fishing when ever i wanted too, not just when Tyler wanted too.

  7. Fishing on my own has been relativity unsuccessful around Weston. This is simply because my fishing equipment is geared towards lake Winnipesaukee, the fish there are much bigger, they go for bigger lures and bigger hooks. Fishing alone really gives you time to think, you have the ability too totally zone out and think about life. Fishing is an opportunity to unwind, this is great especially in a time of such great stress for a lot of High school Seniors. Fishing is my way to get away from things, i can go when ever i want, i can go for 15 minutes or a few hours. It is great way to spend time instead of sitting inside on your computer.
